Maintaining a Long-Distance Relationship

We all know maintaining a long distance relationship is hard, but don’t let that scare you from going into one. We are going to provide some tips on how you can make the best of your long distance relationship, whether you’re going into one, or you’re already in one.

 1. Set Some Time to See Each Other

It’s really hard to see each other when you are in a long-distance relationship, especially when plane tickets are expensive. But try to set some time to see each other, whether it be 3 months apart, or 6 months apart. According to Brittany Wong in her article, her husband and she set a:

“rule to never go more than six weeks without seeing one another in person and we pretty much stuck to that.”

This is a great opportunity to know that no matter what, you both will see each other soon. When doing this, you are sure when to see each other instead of hoping when the next time you’ll see each other.

2. Create an Online Calendar

According to Stacie Simpson, she says in her article:

“This can promote trust, and also help you know the best times to schedule a video call.”

When creating your online calendar, you both are able to see who’s available, and when the next schedule should be.

4. Video Chating

Video chatting is one of the best ways to communicate when you’re in a long-distance relationship if you can’t see each other in person. You can watch movies together while video chatting, it’s almost like they’re there with you. You both will laugh or cry together…virtually.

5. Trust Each Other

Trust is very important. You don’t want to be obsessive and check his/her social media every five seconds. You have to learn to trust him/her and give him/her space, don’t expect him/her to text you every 5 minutes of the day.
